So I really suck at this whole keeping up to date with my blog, but hey at least I'm trying. The last time I posted was in March and not a whole lot has changed since then.. I finished all my finals and am now out of university for the summer! I managed to pass all my courses (thank the lord) and have a decent average so far! I know I want to be a doctor, but recently I have also been looking in to what it takes to become a dietitian, UBC has a program there that sounds super interesting to me, so as of right now my plan is to see how second year goes at UVIC and if it's too tough I may just change programs and go to UBC. Hopefully not though.
Speaking of second year, I also need to find a place to live for September. Me and Alexandra are considering just living together in a two bedroom apartment but we already agreed to share a house with four other girls so we're still trying to decide what to do and how to tell them we've changed our minds.
Now that I'm out of school for the summer I have been working lots, and I LOVE my job! I know it;s just a simple cashier job but I have so much fun everyday and really love all the customers that come through and the staff that I work with. Next week I even get to be in the Lake Days parade apparently! We have also been building a soap box derby car for the soap box race that takes place during Lake Days.
Since I've been home I've been able to see a lot more of my friends that I haven't seen since September and it's been really nice. It's weird though how everyone is growing up and doing their own thing, and how much friends have changed since high school.
One thing I wish I had the opportunity to do is travel. A lot of my friends have been to tropical places or Europe and the farthest I've ever been is California. It's okay though because I know my time will come soon. I just need some money (that doesn't go towards school) and I'll be off.
I have to say I'm extremely proud of myself for completing my first year of university.. I was able to adjust to the extremely heavy workload that pertains to the sciences all while being enrolled in the hardest Calculus & Physics classes and maintaining a part time job. I also feel that I was able to see my family and friends from home enough.
In general, I'm really happy at where I am today and look forward to what this summer is going to bring!
