Just a short post for today!
Weekend was good - Kenny and I got to visit our friends new house that they just bought and are renovating. Asides from that, the rest of the time was spent on the water.
As for today, I dropped Kenny off at work, showered, took the dogs for a walk, and now I get to relax before work.
Here's to hoping my shift goes by fast!

Getting there
Hello!
Today was my first day off (besides when I left work early the other day) in about a week! For once, I can actually say I feel productive. This morning I got home, showered, took the dogs for a walk, and then began applying for my student loans. After this, I headed down to Wal-Mart and bought a bunch of groceries for my parents & applied for a new job. Once, I got home and unpacked all the groceries I made some banana bread (which is currently in the oven) - yum!
Normally, when I have a day off I can't find ways to keep myself busy very well so I either go out with friends or sulk around the house because I'm bored. So as cheesy as it sounds, I'm actually proud of myself today for finding meaningful things to do.
Another bonus for today? It's payday! Yay!
As for applying for jobs, I don't know what my plans are yet. I currently have a full time job at 40 hours per week until September. Once September hits I'm hoping to only work two days a week while I go back to school. I like my actual job but I just can't deal with the unreasonable management anymore - 3 years ago was a much different (better) story when we had people who actually knew how to manage. So here are my options: quit my job now and hope I find a new job, hopefully find a new job first and then quit my job right away, or stick it out until September.
I don't know which option I'm going to chose, but I do know if I get an offer for a job that sounds interesting to me I'm going to jump at it. Does this mean giving my work the courtesy of 2 weeks notice? Maybe not. But at this point I don't even think they deserve that respect.
Oh well, I can always hope that things turn around once the tourist season starts to wind down.
I'm off to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Worklife blues
So basically to sum it all up - I want a new job. I had a terrible day at work yesterday and ended up leaving only half an hour into my shift (something that never happens). Why do I need a new job? Because I cannot put up with my manager any longer. I have never worked with such a controlling, unreasonable woman before.
What am I doing to fix this? Well yesterday after I left work I went to Duncan and handed out a bunch of resumes. Two of the places actually sounded promising so I'm hoping I at least get a call for an interview from someone!
I tried to do my workout plan again this morning but I am waaaay too sore from yesterday - so I'm thinking I'll have to do it once every two days for a while until I get used to it.
Basically, as much as I love summer, I am ready for fall. I would like to not be working so much and want to go back to having some more structure in my days (which school provides).
All in all I plan to enjoy the remaining month and a half of summer and hopefully find a new job in the meantime!

Keeping up with the fad
Okay, so basically as of lately everyone I know has become health & fitness crazy. Which I think is totally a good thing seeing how it is summertime. So today I decided to get my butt in shape - I began with a morning workout (which kicked my butt) which I plan on doing once a day. I would also like to get into running again and maybe some drop in yoga classes.
In reality, I'm not concerned with my weight or body image at all - I would just like to become more toned and eat a bit healthier. Those late night chocolate bars at work have to go!
So we'll see how this fitness regime goes... I'm hoping I have enough motivation to keep up with it!
As for work, I'm currently onto day 6/7 and CANNOT wait for a day off! I wouldn`t mind working seven days straight if I got some morning shifts but as of right now I`m working either 1-9pm or 2:30-10:30pm.
Anyways, off to make a healthy breakfast and then relax before work!

Optimistic thoughts..
Hi all!
So as usual, I completely forgot about this website for about a year. Oh well, time flies and school & work have been keeping me busy. Basically, I am all signed up for my third year of university this fall - and for the first time I can say I'm excited to go back to school. Why? Well for one, I only have school 2 days a week (Mondays & Thursdays) and for two, all of my classes sound super interesting!
As for my personal life, it could not be any better! In a couple weeks it will be my one year anniversary and I`m super excited! I could not ask for a better boyfriend - in every way. As for my family, we are stronger than ever and I love spending time with my parents and younger sister.
The only thing I`m tired of is working, I am currently on my 2nd seven day stretch in the past month and I`ve got to say - I`m getting tired. I would love to have a full time office job Monday-Friday but I guess that we don`t always get what we want.
Anyways, I`m looking forward to writing more on this blog and sharing my life with all of you.
Off to work I go!
